Today’s kids have lost their marbles… and traded them in for Bakugan warriors. Just as the youngsters of yore delighted in shooting marbles, this has been supplanted by Bakugan, a new action-packed game designed for the current generation.
The object of Bakugan is to roll the colorful plastic Bakugan Brawler spheres onto magnetic metal cards which cause the brawlers to unlock and open up, converting them into fully-formed Bakugan warriors. The cards have points printed on them which are collected by the Bakugan that lands on them.
Newcomers to the Bakugan world may want to try the Bakugan Starter Pack for their initial experience of this massively popular game. The pack comes with three Bakugan Brawlers, three magnetic metal cards, and an illustrated set of easy-to-follow instructions.
Bakugan is played with two up to four players at a time. At the start of the game, each player chooses a deck consisting of no less than three cards and three Bakugan Brawlers. A player can have more than three cards and brawlers as long as all the other players have the same number each.
The cards, which are each placed face down, come in four types: the Normal, Character, Command and Ability Cards. Except for the Ability Cards, the first three mentioned card types are made of metal. Positioned in the battle field, they cause the Bakugan Brawlers that land on them to activate and pop open.
A card used in battle may have a command found at the bottom which may affect the tide of the game. All of the metal cards have a G-power boost rating on each of them. Located at the card’s left side, the boost is verified by the color of the Bakugan Brawler that falls on the card.
Bakugan owes its enormous popularity to its varied appeal among its fans. For many, it is a mentally-challenging game which allows them to exercise their wits through strategizing, as well as their mathematical abilities through keeping track of their points. There is also the skill involved in aiming the brawlers to hit their target. And of course, there are those who are simply fascinated with collecting the colorful, pocket-sized Bakugan warriors themselves.
Think of it as an upgrade of good old-fashioned marble-shooting. Bakugan is a game that is not only fun-filled and exciting, but in its own way educational as well. Offering amusement on all levels, the Bakugan warriors are sure to be on the top of every kid’s toy wish list.
